The Lands Between

The world of Elden Ring, also known as the Lands Between, was once a prosperous land that many people called home; the majestic and ever-revered Erdtree towering over the lands bestowed its blessings upon the people and, with their blessed nature evident due to the golden aura visible within their eyes, the Golden Order was founded; but it would only be a matter of time before this prosperity was annihilated by the death of the first Demigod, Godwyn the Golden, and the subsequent shattering of the Elden Ring, an all-powerful artificact that governed the metaphysical laws of reality, by Queen Marika the Eternal. There was a significant portion of the population that lost their blessings, the grace in their eyes fading, and were banished from the Lands Between after being labeled as "Tarnished", but a select few would have their grace returned and were called back to the Lands Between to restore order by slaying the remaining Demigods and reuniting the scattered fragments of the Elden Ring, also known as Great Runes, that the Demigods fought over in the wake of the Shattering. Will the Tarnished manage to restore order to the Lands Between, or is destruction and chaos evermore the final fate of the Lands Between?

Limgrave

Limgrave is a lush, expansive section of the Tenebrae Demesne. Golden trees and tall grass and bushes provide plenty of sustenance for the local wildlife, that features boars, sheep, goat and rodents in addition to flying creatures such as eagles and owls. More sinister and aggressive wildlife also exists, and those venturing forth should be prepared to combat them.

Weeping Peninsula

The peninsula, to Limgrave's south, is named for its unceasing rainfall, redolent of lament.

Liurnia Of The Lakes

With its shallow waters and vast wetlands, the region of Liurnia is beset with the gradual sinking of most of its landmass. With its forests perpetually blanketed in fog, eerie sounds of bells can be heard in the distance.

Caelid

Caelid, known as the locale of the last battle between General Radahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella, is a vast land consummately marred by scarlet rot.

Dragonbarrow

The dragons that escaped the scarlet rot made nest of the plateau to Caelid's north. Thus it was named "Dragonbarrow," and none dare to enter.

Mt. Gelmir

Mt. Gelmir is a volcanic region west of the Altus Plateau, ruled over by the enigmatic Volcano Manor and their lord, Praetor Rykard. This region has been ravaged, and is home to many grotesque creatures.

Leyndell Royal Capital

The Capital City, located at the foot of the Erdtree. Despite being partially destroyed by the dragon Gransax, it still holds strong to this day. It houses many strong foes, along with the mysterious Veiled Monarch, Morgott.

Mountaintops Of The Giants

The fabled domain of the Giants, now in ruins. Devasted after their war against the Erdtree, their corpses lay frozen at the peak, with only the Fire Monks residing close by.

Reviews

What are people saying about Elden Ring?

It will seem unfair, almost rude and insulting to play, at first.
Every step of the way Elden Ring challenges what you think you know about action games,
and video games in general. You're plopped into a world with little to no map markers.
Zero quest log.
Dialogue is spoken once to you by npcs, better remember what they say!
And the world is completely open.
It takes modern open world concepts that have been overused and some how makes them feel fresh.
The reward of continuing on despite your many failures, is what makes Elden Ring so unique and enjoyable to play.
Nobody in their right mind would release a game like this in 2022.
But here we are. Elden Ring feels like it's from a different time period in gaming.
Like it came straight out of the 1990's early 2k's but with the graphics and precision you would expect from a title in 2022.
Without all the bloat and nonsense. Elden Ring doesn't waste your time when you play it.
It's just a masterpiece. It's like the game we have all been waiting for.
If you have been playing games since you can remember and loved Ocarina of Time, the Elder Scrolls and multiplayer games like Halo.
There is something you will love in this game.
The multiplayer alone is an exceptionally unique and wacky experience that I highly recommend.
10/10, wish I could replay it all over again for the first time.
